Brief
This policy outlines Auckland Challenge’s refund policy, this policy covers transactions for all Auckland Challenge services and subsidiaries including ACORN (https://acorn.aucklandchallenge.org.nz), the Auckland Challenge website (https://aucklandchallenge.org.nz), all in person transactions and all other transactional agreements between you (the client) and Auckland Challenge or an agent authorised by Auckland Challenge.
Consumer Guarantees Act
Auckland Challenge will meet all their obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act and all relevant legislation.
Refunds
Refunds for specified services
This section outlines Auckland Challenge’s refund structure for services specified under the below schedule.

DofE enrolment | Full (prior to registration approval) | Auckland Challenge will not provide a refund once your Online Record Book account has been approved. |
Adventurous Journey enrolment | Full | A full refund is available if: a cancellation notice is received more than 1 week prior to the journey start date. No refunds are available if: cancellation is within 1 week of the journey start date. If you are in Isolation within 1 week of the start date please contact admin@aucklandchallenge.org.nz, a refund or credit may be available |
Own journey planning | Full / Partial | A full refund is available if: You cancel prior to the initial meeting or work being done on your request OR if Auckland Challenge withdraws from the assessment. A 50% refund is available if: You withdraw from the assessment once work on your assessment has begun |
Certificate postage | Full | A full refund is available if: a refund request is sent PRIOR to your certificate being packaged for postage. No refund is available otherwise A refund for certificate postage is only available within 14 months of enrolment (Bronze / Silver) or 20 months (Gold) |
Online Adventurous Journey training | None | No refunds are available for this service |
Refunds for other services
- Auckland Challenge will not provide refunds for change of mind purchases.
- Auckland Challenge will provide a full refund if we are unable to fulfil your purchase
- Auckland Challenge will provide a full refund if work on your purchase has not begun AND Auckland Challenge has not incurred any cost from your purchase
- Auckland Challenge will provide a full refund minus costs incurred and an administration fee of 10% if work has begun on your purchase or Auckland Challenge has incurred cost.
Refund method
Payments made by card: will be refunded to the original card used.
Payments made via bank transfer: A bank account number will be requested from the person who made the purchase
