Welcome to the peak of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Adventurous Journey! At Gold level, we seek to foster a true love of the bush and build you a solid foundation of outdoor knowledge so you can continue exploring everything Aotearoa New Zealand and the rest of the World has to offer throughout your life!
As part of the Gold Adventurous Journey, you and your peers will take part in an exciting Gold Qualifying Expedition, challenging yourselves to consider the biggest and perhaps wildest journey you’ve ever been on!
This is a 5-day Mountain Biking adventure throughout the Whakarewarewa Forest in Rotorua and Great Lakes Trail, Taupo!
There will be a strong focus on group management, leadership, risk management, route planning, weather monitoring and skills developed over the earlier levels of your Duke of Edinburgh.
Start and Finish Times
Drop off time: Wednesday 15th April, 6am at Bigfoot Adventures, 5/6 Argus Place, Hillcrest
Pick up time: Sunday 19th April, 6pm from Bigfoot Adventures, 5/6 Argus Place, Hillcrest
