DESCRIPTION:This journey is run by Bigfoot AdventuresWelcome to the first step towards completing your Adventurous Journey section of your Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award! \n\n\n\nThe key focus of this training and practice journey is to provide you with an opportunity to build on the many skills that were introduced to you during the Bronze Adventurous Journey Section OR for direct entrants to learn and develop these foundational skills ahead of your qualifier. \n\n\n\nFor this 3 day/2 night journey\, participants will be exploring the history of the Kaimai Ranges & Karangahake Gorge with it’s old logging trails\, mining tunnels and beautifully diverse flora/fauna. \n\n\n\nTo be eligible for the Silver Training & Practice Journey\, all participants are to have successfully completed the Bronze prerequisites unless a direct entrant . SUMMARY:Silver - Qualifying [Tramping]
DESCRIPTION:This journey is run by AdventureWorksThis Silver Qualifying Journey is a three-day expedition that lets you apply the skills and knowledge you developed during your Training and Practice. Throughout the journey\, your group will walk\, plan your route\, make navigation decisions\, and manage camp life together\, developing confidence\, teamwork\, and problem-solving skills in real expedition conditions. \n\n\n\nYour instructor will provide guidance and ensure safety\, but the focus is on giving your group the independence to make decisions\, overcome challenges\, and work collaboratively. This journey is a rewarding way to experience the outdoors\, test your skills\, and grow in resilience and self-reliance! By the end\, you’ll have completed a memorable\, self-driven expedition and gained confidence for future adventures. \n\n\n\nThis is a 3 day and 2 night tramping and camping event with 7 hours of activity per day. You will need to carry all your own clothing\, food\, gear\, tent\, etc. \n\n\n\nYou must plan and bring your own food.
