DESCRIPTION:This journey is run by Bigfoot AdventuresWelcome to the first step towards completing your Adventurous Journey section of your Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award! \n\n\n\nThe key focus of this training and practice journey is to provide you with an opportunity to build on the many skills that were introduced to you during the Bronze Adventurous Journey Section OR for direct entrants to learn and develop these foundational skills ahead of your qualifier. \n\n\n\nFor this 3 day/2 night journey\, participants will be exploring the history of the Kaimai Ranges & Karangahake Gorge with it’s old logging trails\, mining tunnels and beautifully diverse flora/fauna. \n\n\n\nTo be eligible for the Silver Training & Practice Journey\, all participants are to have successfully completed the Bronze prerequisites unless a direct entrant . As you face the various challenges your confidence will increase as you increasingly move outside of your comfort zone.You’ll meet 39 other young kiwis from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. Over 10 days you will come to depend on each other\, learn tolerance and acceptance and create close and lasting bonds. Once you leave the ship you are connected to the Spirit community for life!
