This term’s journeys
Grab your mates and get out there
Kia ora, here are some journey options coming up across Bronze, Silver and Gold — plus one exciting new opportunity. Adventurous Journeys are always better as a crew, so round up your friends and lock in a date together. You’re not limited to these either; they’re a starting point if you’re looking for one.

Remember: you need to complete Adventurous Journey Training for your level before you can do a Practice Journey. Bronze and Silver participants can do this on ACORN — you should have received a login when you enrolled with Auckland Challenge. If you can’t find it, go to the ACORN login page, click “Forgot password” and enter your ORB email.

Sailing Trust Voyage
Run by New Zealand Sailing Trust
A five-day youth leadership and motivation voyage in the Hauraki Gulf — 23 places for participants aged 14–17. Crews plan the route, prepare meals and share life on board, with around eight hours of purposeful activity a day, including a community litter-collection project for Auckland Council. May suit a Silver or Gold Adventurous Journey. For a Gold participant who doesn’t already know anyone else on board, it could count as a Residential Project instead — we can also take a couple of 20–25 year olds completing their Residential Project.
11–15 Jan 2027
Hauraki Gulf
Up to $1,200
$600 deposit by 31 Oct, rest by 30 Nov
We’re gathering interest only right now — this voyage runs only if we reach the minimum group size, so please register even if you’re just considering it. Let us know by Saturday, 19 September 2026.

“I’ve discovered resilience, perseverance and a deeper sense of self-belief. I’ve learned that I’m capable of more than I thought — not just physically, but mentally as well. I’ve also grown in confidence and leadership.”
Gold participant, on their DofE journey
